Employment Term: Seasonal Full Time
The Rural Municipality of Fertile Belt No. 183 is currently accepting applications for the position of Seasonal Equipment/Maintenance Operator. This is a seasonal position from May to October. Depending on weather these time frames may be extended or shortened. Applicants must be willing to work weekdays and possibly weekends as required. Depending on the applicant, this position may convert to full time.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate and service various equipment and attachments. Such as, but not limited to tractors, mowers and backhoe; gravel trucks (with appropriate license), graders.
- Gravel reclamation, rock picking, installation of culverts and minor road construction.
- Sign and post installation.
- Complete daily log and pre-op inspections and follow safety procedures.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to establish effective working relationships with coworkers, council, administration, contractors, and rate payers.
- Other duties as assigned by the Foreman or Administrator.
The Successful Applicant Should Possess:
- Experience in maintenance and operation of heavy equipment
- Applicants must have the ability to manage and organize daily duties; and work with minimal supervision as required.
- Great communication and documentation skills.
- Valid driver’s license, class 1A is an asset.
